Days 42, 43 and 44 (We're Back!)

Day 42
Friday today, at least that is what they tell us! We walked around town some today and went to the Cheeky Monkey Cafe again. They make a great cup of coffee, and the name makes it that much better.

From our backpackers, Wanaka Bakpaka, we saw a sail boat race taking place on Lake Wanaka. The boats were heading out to the starting line.














We then did a wee bit of shopping, John was really looking forward to this part of the day. It was a nice day to be out and about and we managed to get some good deals on some gifts.

Day 43
Today we were on a mission to take care of some more internet stuff and get caught up on our blog a bit. I think we were only about a week behind at this point in time, we're still working on it. It was a beautiful day and after some time on the computer at our hostel, we went out for a walk.














John stopped for a photo op, then we continued along the waterfront on our walk. It was a pretty windy day, so some hearty souls were out doing a little bit of wind surfing. The water was quite cold.

After our walk along the waterfront we went back to our second favorite spot in Wanaka (after the Cheeky Monkey Cafe) the Cinema to watch another film and have some awesome cookies at intermission.

Day 44

Today we are heading from Wanaka down to Queenstown. Along the way we actually made it "down under". We crossed the 45th parallel south...exciting!

Also, along the way we stopped to do a Queenstown original.

The bungy jump!

We both jumped of the Kawarau Bridge with some elastic bands tied to our ankles and survived to tell about it.

The Kawarau Bridge is the first comercial bungy site. It is a 43 meter jump and is an incredible rush. We recommend everyone give it a try sometime if you haven't done it yet.




















After our jumps we watched a few more of our mates jump and then headed into to Queenstown to relax, have a beer and settle our nerves. Sweet as...
